CNY contd

Filed at 10:04 am under KL Happenings by tangcyee

Weather is sooooo hot in Kellie's Castle. Look at the kids sweating.

This top and bottom picture is such a nice candid shot, isn't it?

OK. That's it about Kellie's castle. Otherwise, it will be brick bricks and more bricks. We traveled on to Tanjung Tualang for our family reunion dinner, albeit in the afternoon. In fact, we have decided that the next time celebrating CNY reunion is better done in the afternoon outside Ipoh whereby the people are less crowded and all the family members are together.

Usually Gargies and her family cannot join in if it is a night reunion dinner the day before CNY.

So, this is the shop. Opposite the wet market in Tg Tualang, called Tong Lok Restaurant.

The first time I was here with Gargies and her family, we have to buy the fresh fish fro the opposite market and bring it to the restoran to cook for us. Talk about harmony here!

This is my two favorite drink which I order immediately when we sat down. With the sweltering heat, "Wan Tau Long" the green jelly and "Pang Tai Woon", the green herbal tea sure cools me down.

And naturally, Lou Sang is a must. I think all the bloggers I know of must have posted all type of Lou Sang and maybe I am the last one to post it up, so many days after CNY!

Anyway, Lou Sang is traditionally the method of mixing up all the veggies andlifting it up as high as possible. Tradition belief that the higher you lift, the more luck you'll have. I think I just lift my chopstick so high that no Lou Sang was left on the chopstick.

Closeup shot of the Wan Tau Long. Mmm…

My favorite fish, "Pak Sou Kong", - what- White Beard Fish? Buahaha.

And now, here is the most famous fresh prawn from the talk about town of Tanjung Tualang. We order two types, one steamed.

And the other fried with cheese. Damn, me getting real hungry now. Posting this up only reminds me of the delicious prawns we had back then.

We had two tables, one for the adults, the other for the kids. They had fried eggs and fried tau foo and of course shared the fish.

This is one of my favorite veggie dish. We call it Ga Goo Choy, dunno what in English. ANybody knows? Malay is paku pakis, is it? Anyway, cooked with belacan, yummy.

When this dish was served, the kids were all eagerly looking forward to dig their forks in them. It looks like chicken to them. Then my niece ask me. "What are these meat?"

"Frog" I said.

"Urgh". Immediately all the kids put their chopsticks and spoons down. Haha. Better still, this dish then went to the adults table and was walloped off in no time at all.

All these dishes minus the drinks, with two table, rice and miscellaneous only just RM200. Cheap, huh?

In the evening, met up some nieces and cousins. Gosh, all of them have grown up right in front of my eyes.

So, it's back to work now here in Thailand. Busy as usual.
