Before you scroll down, please be aware that the photos in this post are extremely harmful to your health. Please ensure you has some food with you, otherwise I will not be held responsible for any stomach cramps or gastric consquences. Please prepare also an empty bucket to contain all salivas that may subconsciously dropped down from your already wet mouth. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I'd always love to travel back to Menglembu, the hometown which I grew up. Menglembu prides itself for the legendary "Menglembu Groundnut" though until now the only groundnut that I see is the two huge groundnut at the roundabout when you enter Menglembu. Other than that, you can find Menglembu groundnut all over the world, yes, even Bangkok, EXCEPT…Menglembu! Haha. What a joke. Anyway, here are some pics of Menglembu now for those who are born there. Just to refresh back old memories in case you miss home.

Main Street Menglembu

These Views are taken from the new highway and from the Main Pasar. Views from the main street and Pasar.Towards sunset, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Lok-Lok is still there. These are all varities of foods are displayed and you actually dip them into a hot boiling water, cook it, then dip it into a delicious sauce and put it into your mouth. Mmm.

Then opposite the street, they have Curry Mee, Wu tau kou, Chee Mah (I have been eating these stuff for 20 over years and I still don' know that it's called Chee Mah!).

At night, it's supper time! See, my stomach is already bloating but the thought of Lou Wong Bean sprouts and chicken, or rather, Ipoh's famous Nga Choy Kei is a must on my menu. If I don't eat now, dunno when I will return to eat it again. I have been eating chicken and bean sprouts since I was, I dunno, 9 years old? They use to sell it by the road side then but over the years, because of their well known characters, people starts to notice them. You see, previously, two brothers were selling and they used to quarrel a lot. One brother will scream on top if his lungs and chop the chickens so fast that you can see him chopping into 99pieces under a minute. Then when he is upset, he will use his knife and threaten his brother. Dunno whether i's their gimmick act or the food that attracts the people. I think it is both. Anyway, it still is my favourite food in Ipoh.

Next morning, stomach still bloating, it's breakfast again! Mom ask me to take her out to Pasar which I oblige willingly because back of my mind, I was thinking of Pin Sum Cha Siew Pau! Then theres Fusan Siew Yook, (Deep Fried Pork, Bangkok no fight).

Arrgh...yummy

Saw some food that I miss and bought this too, even though cannot finish also Ta Pau (Pack!)

Chee Cheong Fun

Cha Kuey

All these are consumed and enjoyed in this "lorong" or side lane between two shop houses and with the background view of a hill and the wind breezing over your face, now that's what I call "Heong Sau".

Want some more food pics? No, I don't think so, I myself also cannot stand it. Excuse me while I have to go to the kitchen to dig out some food to eat.
