Deep Sea Fishing Phuket - Part 2
Continuing our adventure - Deep Sea fishing in Phuket -
The captain’s boat is very cool, with 3 built in bedrooms and air conditioned too!
The main dining area has a TV, a karaoke set, a kitchen, and the upper deck is the control area with the “driver” navigating the “steering wheel”. (That’s me of course!)
Of course, the goodies to check out are the equipments and the baits used to get the torrado’s, barracuda’s, tuna’s, sword fish or whatever is down there! Ian’s fishing rods are cool, all good stuff, Shimano Brand.
Well, if you have a BIG one, you’d better sit down on the specially designed chair like this….. coz it ain’t gonna be a couple of minutes fighting with them, as what the captain says…..
However, the first “Catch” of the day took everybody by surprise, even the Captain himself. We found this capsized boat in the middle of the sea halfway travelling.
Oh my god, I hope there are no bodies buried below the boat. The captain radioed back on shore and the police advice us to overturn the boat and check out if there’s anything under. They obliged and began to put the hook across the boat before advancing our boat to flip the boat over and……we held our breath.
and…….
We heaved a sigh of relief. We couldn’t imagine what it would like if there are bodies there. Anyway, happily, we continued our way to Similan Island. Halfway there, we really got our first catch. Two fish at the same time, to be exact. This is what we caught on our first attempt.
Next,a BIG torrado fish. Took some time to lift this whopper off the sea.
