Thana City Golf - Part 2
….Cont’d From Part 1 I decided to reinstate back my caddie after she gave me that pity look on her face with the condition that no more laughing at my funny shots, OK? She grinned and assured me. Within seconds, she’s back trolling on the fairway pulling my golf bag.
To be honest, though, these girls are much better than anybody when it comes to analyzing the line of putt at the green. Can’t blame them, after working for so many years in the course looking at the same 18 holes everyday, how can you miss the slope? But pass the putter to them, they will immediately shake their heads and says no. Theory good, practical no use.
The golf course, by the way, is very near the new airport airport and you can see aeroplanes descending at some locations during tee off. The caddie will then ask me to aim the aeroplane as the marker and shoot it down. What? Ta Fei Kei?
Not here, lady. [Cantonese word. Translated as masturbating, for the sake of foreigners reading, if there is any..:)]
Approaching the clubhouse at Hole No 9, my score is almost 50 already! Tee off was good but the putting and 50-100yards are the ones that kills me.
See this 9th hole? I reach just slightly in front of the caddie, driving almost 240yards. Considered good for an amateur like me.
The green is front, just need to cross the water at 100yards. Ball standing by, I made my shot. Landed just in front of the green short and ..plop, fell in the water. Tried it again, the same place. Tried the third time, landed in the far bunker!
Well, promised myself to play better at the back nine. One good thing that I don’t really like here is that, between the front and back nine, all the group tends to create a bottleneck by stopping by to have lunch break. Eventually, by the time you are ready for Hole No 10, all your mood and swing disappeared just like that. So frustrated! So, what do you do while waiting to tee off and there is another group yet to tee off? You try to wander around and catch some candid shots! Like this one. Smile, lady. You’re on candid camera.
It was almost dark at the 15th Hole and we wonder if we can finish in time. Sceneries are the best at these hours.
Approaching the final hole, we were really blurred as we cannot almost see the green..:) Anyway, eventually, we did finish the game. My score? It was much better. Got two pars. Most of them are bogeys. If it is not because of Hole 10 after the long break, I could have score lower. Thanks caddie for a wonderful time laughing at the course, my friends also do agree and we will probably give this course another shot. PS Chin and KW Lam is coming next week, how about this course? You can have my caddie. She’s good at the line of putt
