Holiday almost over

Time flies so fast! It's been a week now since we are back here in Malaysia and in the blink of an eye, it's time to go back tomorrow. Let's see, what have I done for the past week.

a) I've been to my hometown in Ipoh, met some good old friends and the most important thing of all, had all the goodies food in Ipoh. Tried to go to Fusan restaurant who incidentally has shifted to a new location and the queue is so deng long, man. How come they never implement the number system like Claire's comment on the Ipoh Buntong Mee ah?

Talking about Ipoh, when I went back to my home where I grew up, lots of old memories came back to my mind when I step in the house. My Mom is very strict back then and at the back of our house, there is a small lane only accessible for one car to pass through. After that, it is the back of the opposite row of houses, hence we can actually see the kitchen of the opposite house.

Anyway, me and my brother like to play kites very much and I actually made my own kite rather than buying it, no money back then mah. So after completed the project, our next question is, how to fly it up without my Mom realising it? As I've said, she is so strict that we didn't even dare to ask her if we can play kite or not coz we would know the answer anyway - NO-.

So, when Mom is out sometimes and she will lock the front door, we will sneak out through the back door and fly it up at the narrow back lane. Here's the problem. Not only the lanes are small. there are a parallel of electrical cables running parallel and sometimes across the house, so until now, I still don't know how we did manage to get it up but I still remember the satisfaction and cool after we did get the kite up. Haha.

My favourite shirt which is yellow and red stripe one and is used to "kau lui" back in those days is now used to prevent dust on top of the television. Sigh.

b) We went to Cameron Highland and I must admit that the new road from Ipoh all the way up was a pleasant drive. No photos here as I forgot to bring my camera back and hope that Gargies will post those pics. Anyway, it was real fun and again memories of CH also comes back but if I were to talk memories, it will take a long post, hehe.

c) Then we went to Tg Tualang to see the kapal korek heritage in which they display the olden days of tin excavation methods of using the kapal korek and now it is lying on a pond, half tilted sideways and almost on the verge of collapsing. The kids had a great time there and oh, the prawns in Tg Tualang was so deng cheap and Aroi mak mak. You actually buy the fresh fish, "soon hock" from opposite the market and they will cook it for you. Have seen it in Claire's website but didn't know it taste so yummy! Hope Gargies will post this one too.

d) Went back to KL and did all the documents, expired passport, expired license, expired ID, etc etc. Have to admit though. The taxis here never change, don't they? For a trip from KLCC to Mid Valley one fine night, the taxi refuse to use the meter and says RM25 for that short trip! Reason being no customer after going to Mid Valley!! What? You think I Lulu ka? KLCC come back no customer understandable lah. Mid Valley come back no customer? Go and fly kite lah. Snd no, I am not referring to flying kite like I do at the back lane, OK?

e) Went to play golf with my old friends at Monterez and had a great time. The most memorable one was having supper at old Subang airport where they have Hor Fan with Tin Kai (Toad), wow…unfortunately no photo again!

f) Shopping and shopping and more shopping at KLCC and Mid Valley and the kids love it. Watch Ice Age 3 too and my luggage back will be so overloaded, definitel, when I fly back to Bangkok tomorrow.

Meanwhile, with one day left, you bet I will stuff myself full before I leave.
