Movie Review - Karate Kid

Now this is one Jackie Chan movie which I would really recommend to see.  I mean, it has all the ingredients of Jackie, Kungfu, funny scenes, touching scenes - I really wet my eyes when Jackie laments on the loss of his wife and son- and of course beautiful sceneries of Beijing.

Seriously, Jackie's acting has improves leaps and bounds. No more kungfu shots for him. (He only kung fu'ed around 5 minutes throughout the whole movie and this is with a bunch of kids too, very entertaining)Maybe his character is meant for him to be old but the camera and cosmetic team really did a good job.

Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith plays the Karate Kid and Mr Han (Jackie Chan) of course is the new Mr Miyagi (If you remember the original Karate Kid's movie back in the 80's).

The most beautiful scenery I have ever seen is when they climb up to the peak of a mountain in Beijing and there, perched on a beam protruding outside the building wall, stands a lady tiptoeing on the beam and imitating a cobra move. In front of her is a real cobra and, as Jackie says, the cobra is imitating her and not vice versa. Man, the view is awesome because a slip of this lady and she will plunge down hundreds of feet down the mountain.

As for the touching scene, I'll leave it to you guys to watch it and tell me if you cried or not. I did.ou

Originally, I thought that this movie was shot in the States and I rerally didn't expect much from this movie. Nor did I do any rresearch prior to watching this movie hence, it was a pleasant surprise and I walked out of the cinema feeling good and worth on the money spent.

Good job, Jackie. I mean, I have all your movies, 4 DVD since the good old days of Drunken Fist, Snake in Eagles Shadow.

You were THE karate kid then with your master, Mr Yuen or something like that. Now you are your own master! Hope to catch more of your movies soon.

Check out Jackie's website if you want to read his promotional tour. Very good blog.
