New Year Bang

Filed at 3:00 am under Bangkok Happenings and Emotions by tangcyee

Happy New Year 2010 everybody! I am back and started off the new year with a big BANG!

A bang that I did not really anticipated and not a good one too. Early morning before to work, a letter was addressed to me with the following header blaring out loudly.

"FINAL WARNING LETTER.

Despite numerous attempts to collect, we have not received your outstanding payment for……"

Now, to most of us, these three letters apply only for certain conditions:-
a) From bank who issue out to NPL on cars or house.
b) From bank who wants credit card collection.
c) From lawyers etc etc.

Right? WRONG!

Read on the final words:-

"IF you fail to clear your outstanding balance by 5th Jan 2010, YOUR CHILD(REN) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND CLASS!"

Yes, this letter comes from an reputational international school. Man, in our olden days, when we are young, we were pressured to attend school, no matter rain or shine. The only chance that a school is ejected from school is something serious like serious fighting or smoking or something like that.

But, but…failure to pay the school fees? Makes you piss off or make you scared? Maybe go back to good old Bangkok, cheaper and no threat letters.

So, back in the good old days, when I was studying also pressure to go to school, now my son is in school also pressure to maintain him to stay in school. What has this world gone to, eh?

So, how was your new year beginning? Did you start off with a bang?
